At 1080p, the phosphor and scanline rendering looks more correct, but it's not as good definition as I'm seeing in other people's 4k screenshots. Some of these shaders simulate CRT phosphors, and I'm seeing people have screenshots where the phosphors and scanlines are perfectly aligned to the SNES pixels as they would be on a real CRT, but for me there are like four "phosphors" per pixel which does not look correct. I'm running on a 4k TV, but when I run the BSNES emulator for example with CRT-Royale (the SVideo slang version), the scanlines are too small (two scanlines per SNES pixel - should be one, yes?). I'm looking for a good CRT shader configuration for SNES (and NES too). What should this filter setting be set to? I'm setting it to Normalx2 currently. It seems to interfere with the CRT shaders, especially for N64 emulation. There's a "Filter" setting in the main RetroArch video settings. BSNES-Accuracy: the connoisseur’s choice, offering the most accurate SNES emulation, even if the regular user won’t necessarily notice the accuracies. nSide is a fork of higan that greatly enhances its NES emulation support, and adds minor features to the other cores too. However as of 2018 bsnes has been revived by its author (byuu). Eventually the original version of bsnes was renamed higan and development of bsnes ceased. The goal of having near perfect emulation accuracy meant performance took a hit. bsnes-mercury is a fork of bsnes v094 adapted to work as a libretro emulation core. bsnes was developed by its author as a response to less accurate emulators like ZSNES. I couldn't find a post specifically about this, but I'm trying to get a nice authentic configuration for NES/SNES/N64 emulation and I'm having a heck of a time getting these settings to work nicely. bsnes-plus is a fork of bsnes v073 that adds improved support for debugging Super Famicom software.
